Focus of Research

 

The main focus of Michaela Sambanis' research is creating ties between didactics & neuroscience and academia & practice, as well as the evidence based further development of teacher education and the EFL classroom. 


Prof. Dr. Heiner Böttger

Focus of Research

 

Heiner Böttger is currently focussing on research in language-relevant neurodidactics. He is an advocate for the self-commitment of scholars to announcing the results of their studies to the public at large.


In 2015 they both initiated the conference series "Focus on Evidence (FoE) - Foreign Language Didactics Meets Neuroscience." The first conference proceedings were published by Narr in 2016. The book "Sprachen lernen in der Pubertät" by Böttger and Sambanis followed in March 2017 and was likewise published by Narr, as will the conference proceedings of the FoE conference in Berlin in 2018.

Brief Biography

 

Anna Bitmann is a trained elementary school teacher and researches foreign language- and general science teaching in the elementary school CLIL-classroom. She is currently in the final stages of her PhD.


Christiane Klempin

Brief Biography

 

The goal of Christiane Klempin's project as part of the BMBF-funded doctorate project "k2teach" (quality control in teacher education) at the Free University of Berlin is the evaluation of the teaching and learning laboratories format. This format was adapted to the EFL-classroom for the first time and aims at the development of students' reflective faculty and action ability as well as enabling early practical experience.

Dr. Dipl.-Soz. Tanja Müller

 

Research Assistant at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt at the department of English Didactics and Literature

Brief Biography

 

Tanja Müller holds a PhD in English didactics and a diploma in sociology with a focus on empirical social research. She has been responsible for conducting evaluations within the English language didactics department since 2010. As of 2015, she also plays a role as a research evaluator for the European Commission in the EU-framework programme "Horizon 2020."
